Free Three

About the Free Three

The Biggs Museum is offers three, free family-friendly monthly programs in addition to presenting a collection of fine and decorative art to the public year-round and free of charge. As free programs, The Free Three serves all youth within the Biggs Kids and Mini-Master’s age groups and of all ages at the First Friday program regardless of socio-economic or ethnic background. The Free Three offers children and families another approach to experience education and art in a safe, positive and creative atmosphere.

First Friday
On the first Friday of every month, the Biggs Museum, along with several other members of the Dover arts community, serves as one of the venues for downtown Dover’s First Friday program. First Friday brings the public downtown on the first Friday of every month to enjoy local art venues and activities. The Biggs Museum provides a free, family-friendly program each month. First Friday programs include First Look Party!’s, lectures, curator-led tours, interactive activities, and live performances.

Biggs Kids and Mini-Masters
Biggs Kids and Mini-Masters are free drop-in programs open to the public and are held at the Biggs Museum in the Child HELP Studio.

Biggs Kids
is held the first Saturday of every month for children ages 5-10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mini-Masters
is held the Wednesday after the first Friday of every month for children ages 3-5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Biggs Museum provides innovative and unique art activities that inspire creativity, strengthen the desire to learn, and increase self-esteem.

Biggs Kids and Mini-Masters offer children another approach to experience education in a safe, positive and creative atmosphere. Pre-registration is no longer required. Please note the time change for these programs. We hope to provide high quality educational programming to a larger number of children with expanded hours of operation.

Family <ovie Nights at the Biggs Museum

Family Movie Nights
at the Biggs Museum

The Biggs Museum will launch a new series, Family Movie Nights at the Biggs Museum, in January 2013. This program will feature three newly released family-friendly films on the first Saturdays of January, February and March in the newly renovated Grand Gallery.

The program will begin with a flashlight tour geared specifically toward families. Children and their parents will participate in a special nighttime tour of the second and third floors where they will assist in the illumination of the galleries and featured objects. Family Movie Nights at the Biggs Museum will offer much more than the typical experience at the movie theater. Not only will participants enjoy a family friendly movie, they will also receive a flashlight tour and learn about the importance of the Biggs Museum’s collection of American fine and decorative arts.

2014 Movie Schedule

Saturday, January 4: Wreck-It Ralph
Saturday, February 1: Monsters University
