The Biggs Museum of American Art wants to hear from you!
Biggs – Better – Best!
We need your opinion! The Biggs Museum of American Art is expanding our space on the Dover Green and we’re asking our friends in the community to help us reimagine the space so that it better serves your needs. The feedback we receive will help us create the ideal visitor experience. This is your opportunity to help shape the future of the Biggs! We want you to see yourself and your community in the art, the building, and your visitor experience.
The Biggs will be collecting information in three ways, through a short online survey, Community Listening Sessions, and Focus Groups.
The brief six question survey is the first step to sharing how you interact with the current museum and its’ activities. The short survey asks questions about why you do (or don’t) visit museums and how the Biggs can be made more inviting; from changing the physical space to offering more of what you’d like to see.
The Community Listening Sessions begin at the Dover Public Library, after a short introduction a fully accessible bus will make the 5-minute drive to the Biggs where you’ll have an opportunity to explore the museum. Next, you’ll be driven back to the Library to engage in fun, interactive activities that give you the opportunity to help us to reimagine and improve the physical Museum space, as well as your visitor experience.
The Biggs Museum is offering three Focus Group Workshops for our neighbors in the African American, Indigenous Peoples, and Latinx communities. In the Focus Group you’ll have the opportunity to discuss issues and wants that are specific to your community and participate in engaging activities and conversations.
Workshops and Focus Groups last for 2 to 3 hours and include:
- Exploration of the Biggs
- Complimentary snacks and beverages
- Free parking at the Library and no charge transportation to and from the Biggs
- Meeting rooms that are fully accessible, safe and comfortable, and large enough for social distancing
- Complimentary 1-year Dual Membership for you and whoever you chose!
Register today and help create the future of the Biggs! We want to give every participant the opportunity to share, so our workshop space is very limited.
