The Biggs Museum of American Art is pleased to announce the first celebration of Hair Affair, a new style event and competition to be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011.

This style event showcases whimsical and artful hair designs during a gallery-way show and competition. The hair sculptures, displayed on live models, will take center stage in a competition in the Museum’s galleries. This Sunday afternoon event will also feature music, seasonal hors d’oeuvres, champagne, beauty demonstrations and a spa and pampering-inspired silent auction.

The Biggs Museum looks forward to working with the style community to present a high-quality event that reflects its own artistic standards as well as the standards of all participating salons through this display of innovative, creative, unique and fantastical hair creations…. the more extreme, the better!

The Hair Affair will decide which salon is the most innovative, fashion-forward and creative in the state of Delaware! A panel of three judges and an audience of over one hundred will vote during a gallery-way show on two different categories.

The Biggs Museum is currently seeking salons and stylists to participate in the inaugural Hair Affair. All salons in Delaware are invited to participate in this event by creating a hair sculpture on a live hair model for two categories: Modern Day Life and Fantasy Couture.
