The Board of Trustees, Staff, the 2010 event Honorary Chairs Dr. Michael and Mrs. Jane Mattern, and the Gala Committee are pleased to announce the Sixth Annual Biggs Museum Gala: An Affair with the Arts, to be held at the Museum on Saturday, May 15, 2010.

Regarded as one of the premier fundraising events in Dover, the Biggs Museum Gala attracts more than 400 enthusiastic Museum friends and supporters. The Gala is designed to bring in substantial revenue that directly supports temporary exhibitions and educational programming for the forthcoming year.

Beginning at six p.m., guests at this tented affair enjoy cocktails, gourmet food, a silent auction and dancing with live musical entertainment. Tribeca Grand from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania will be joining us for the first time at the 2010 Gala to musically enchant our guests. The showmanship and talents of this dynamic group guarantees to yield the right blend of music to have all guests on the dance floor. Their music and style appeal to every generation and promises to highlight the evening’s festivities. Nage of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware will be serving delectable fare that is sure to delight everyone’s taste buds.

For sixteen years, the Biggs Museum has been fulfilling its organizational mission to make art directly accessible to the community. Since 1994, the Museum has hosted tens of thousands of visitors from around the country and the world. In January 2010, the Museum began a much anticipated new chapter in a strengthened partnership with the State of Delaware. The Biggs Museum has expanded to assume the entire building on 406 Federal Street; an increase in size by over 7,500 square feet. Throughout sixteen spectacular years of art, education, community and growth, the Museum is commemorating the recent expansion with a celebration at the 2010 Gala!
