Description: Enjoy a unique opportunity to dine in the Biggs Museum galleries and participate in an art education program, such as a lecture, film, or performance.

Event: Art at Lunch: Floating Lighthouses
Date: Wednesday, March 17, 2010
Time: 12 – 1 p.m.
Price: $18 members/$20 not-yet members
Description: Enjoy lunch while Wayne Kirklin recounts his experience gathering information for his 2007 publication Lightships: Floating Lighthouses of the Mid-Atlantic. The floating vessels were placed where mariners needed guidance the most but where building a permanent structure was impossible. Moored near shifting shoals or treacherous offshore reefs, the floating lighthouses played an indispensable part in keeping waterways safe for navigation. Ticket price includes lunch.
