DOVER, DE – Kraft Foods Global Contribution Supports Educational Programming
 at the Biggs Museum

The mission of the Biggs Museum is to enrich the cultural lives of its audiences and to make the collection more broadly accessible.  Past grants from Kraft Foods have enabled the Museum to create the Summer Art Series, a popular program held in July.  This program is offered to the public for a nominal fee and provides an artistic outlet for students that is both fun and educational.  By design, the Summer Art Series offers children access to the Museum while providing art-related programming.  Students are inspired to explore their creativity and to produce their own "masterpieces".

Grant monies in 2007/2008 will be applied toward the enhancement of the Summer Art Series as well as, the expansion of educational programming and related materials to accompany museum offerings. Click here for Press release.and photo.

handicapThe building and Museum are barrier free.  There is an elevator in the Museum, and a wheelchair is available. There are no steps to gain access to the building, and there are 4 parking places designated for handicapped parking, including one for a van. This program is made possible, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.   For additional information on arts activities in Delaware, visit the Delaware Division of the Arts homepage, www.artsdel.org.
