Partners and Supporters
The Biggs Museum collaborates with many local organizations in order to effectively reach the community. For the past six years, the Dover Public Library and the Biggs have worked together to conduct and art themed book club. The Biggs Museum has partnered with Campus Community School for the past five years for a Junior Docent program. Over the past several years, the Biggs has also strengthened partnerships with local artists and art organizations. In February of 2006, collaboration between First State Heritage Park, Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Outdoor Living Magazine, Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs, and the Biggs Museum produced and exhibition in the Biggs Museum featuring local artist H. Earl Abbott, Jr. entitled Picturing the St. Jones: An Exhibit. In November of 2006, the Biggs Museum partnered with the National Watch and Clock Museum to host and exhibition of Delaware Clocks. In March of 2007, the Biggs Museum collaborated with the Delaware Watercolor Society to host a juried exhibition of landscapes entitled Biggs Picture. As the only art museum on the peninsula, the Biggs Museum distinguished itself by working closely with local organizations to create inspiring exhibitions and educational programs.
